Sure I will try to help!

Could you send me the file "DUEngine.exe.exp.log" located in the same folder ?
It will help me to find/fix the crash...

Thx

Hi,

Apparently, it's a "build" problem in the SNMP ip detection plug-in in the 4.0.4
Could you confirm you had the "SNMP ip detection'" plug-in enabled ?

Contact me by email, and I'll send you a pre-4.0.5, fixing this issue.

Regards
William

You can simply register your 3.6.7 !
But this version is not supported anymore.

Fixing the 4.x is my top priority, and help from user is of course required :)

If the engine crashes, please send me the "DUEngine.exe.exp.log" file (in the install folder).

You can try to upgrade to the "pre 4.0.5" version, available here:
http://www.directupdate.net/download/be ... tup405.exe

Hope it helps

I just loaded a copy of Windows XP onto my home PC, downloaded the
latest direct_update, and the installation gave me the same error.
I'll try the pre 4.05 version listed.

I tried the pre 4.0.5 version last night, same error. How do
you check to see if the SNMP agent is enabled?

Could you send me your "duengine.exe.exp.log" file ?

To disable snmp agent, launch regedit to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Fraggers.net\DirectUpdate\Engine\IPDetection-xx
Set the values
"PI-0-Flags" and "PI-0-Index" to 0

Restart the engine

Exception

Postby Gary » Tue Jun 07, 2005 4:17 pm

William,
I reloaded my PC with windows XP. I did notice that the date/time on
the PC during all of my problems was set to 2075. I'm not sure if it
mattered, but the reload fixed my problem, of course to 2005.
I didn't just reload because of the date, other things were behaving
badly also.
I'm not seeing the exception any more, and used the latest offering
of 4.0.4, which is working fine.
Thanks,
Gary
