TSIG auth not working

Postby rustamabd » Sat May 07, 2005 6:52 pm

I'm trying to authenticate with BIND via TSIG but I get a BADKEY error.

Here's the BIND config file:
key "russ" {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret "U7Ha5nTxROdBowCfqEyyVA==";
};
zone "myzone.com" {
type master;
file "myzone.com.db";
allow-update { key "russ"; };
}

In DirectUpdate, I've selected "BIND/DNS update", and typed in my TSIG key "russ" and the secret.

What am I doing wrong?

TIA

Hi Russ,

What is the DU version you are using ?
Could you send a test account, so I can test it myself directly on your server ?

Thx

Nope, sorry, it is a production environment.

The direct update version I tried was 4.0.0 (rc27).
ISC BIND 9.3.1 built for windows NT.

Thx

BIND support has been fixed since the 4.0.3
Please upgrade to the latest version:
http://www.directupdate.net/download.html

And tell me if it's better ... (it should be) !

Regards
William
