DNS Accounts

Postby inetwebguy » Thu Jun 09, 2005 4:14 pm

My IP Detections are working fine, but it seems as if I am having similar problems to a few I have read here, but none so far have fixed the problem.

I use DNSPark.com as my DNS I have an account with them. And actually DirectUpdate worked fine before with an earlier version.

The "STATUS" under my DNS Account for my domain name is:

HTTP Server returned an error.

Not sure where to go from here?

The "View Last Result" file says:

Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

But I have checked and recheck username and password are correct..

I think I found the bug.
When you perform the update "unsecured" (I mean without enabling "perform update using secured protocol"), the dnspark web site redirects the update to a secured one (with the 302 http return code).
And apparently, when retrying on the secured transaction, the authentication info are not sent !

SO, for now, the workaround is to check the option "perform updates using secured protocol" !
The bug will be fixed in the next release !
