gss-tsig / win 2000 dns

Postby Guest » Tue Jul 26, 2005 12:41 am

Hello,

I am unclear on how gss-tsig is working with windows dns. It keeps either timing out or having a format error response. Is the user id and password supposed to be a windows user and pass, or something else, or blank? Should it be an active directory account, etc. i cannot get it to work with any settings if i use secured mode.

thanks

Hello,

First of all, to use the secure update, you must check "perform update using secure protocol" (just behind the account name)

Then, if fields 'login/password' are left empty, the credentials under which the engine is running will be used.
Or you can specify a windows login name (and password of course).
TO specify a domain, use the format "DOMAIN\user".

Note that apparently, the machine must be member of the activ directory for the update to be granted by the server...
This issue is still under investigation.

I recommend you try the atest unofficial version at:
http://www.directupdate.net/download/be ... 05.108.exe

Hope it helps
Regards
William
