ZoneEdit Rety Errors

Postby breese » Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:59 pm

Getting fed up with Zoneedit making changes to the system and not teling anyone, I decided it might be fun you just send Help Support Messages... One wait for it to get closed, another.. and another.
:D
Here is the last one I just sent
------------------------------------------------

So I have been told that if my DirectUpdate software (recommanded my zoneedit) does more than 3 updates per hr the client access will be locked.

1) Is there a way thru the Member Center to see if the client access is locked?
2) Is there a way for the end user to Un-lock it?
3) How many updates over X time before it is locked (i.e. 2 times in ten minutes, 3 times in ten minutes)?
4)What exactly is the time / # of Errors / becomes locked?

Returning an Update To Soon Error to an automated client does nothing to inform the End User of the problem. We do have Email Address's.

It would also have been nice to have been informed of this Lockout Feature.... I have found no information on the Zoneedit site explaining any of this..

Response from Zoneedit

We have updated Case Number 01071412 with a comment:

Thank you for contacting Customer Care.

We unfortunately had to add this "feature" due to abuse and are adding it to the FAQ's soon, we sincerely apologize for the lack of communication.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are only able to send 1 request in a 10-second window, no more than 3 requests in an hour. If the threshold is exceeded the zone will be locked from updates for one hour. The zone will only be unlocked once no update requests have been sent for a full hour.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have any other questions regarding this issue, please feel free to contact us.

Regards,
Customer Care
