DirectUpdate4.0 user was working fine, now doesnt work at all

Postby rp_024 » Thu Jun 22, 2006 1:53 pm

Hi,

Windows XP Pro
Verizon DSL
Westell Versalink 327
IP Port Forward to :8080
java_EE_SDK server
DirectUpdate4.0
Zoneedit DNS service
ZoneAlarm Firewall and virus protection

Hopefully somebody has had this issue and knows the fix. My new address updated and I was alerted by Zone Alarm "New Network Found".

I accepted the alert and everything updated as is supposed to, such as zoneedit, configuring my new ip with the nameserver. However, DU4.0 states under both my DNS account, "Operation Timed out". The IP was showing my previous address. So I whacked both accounts and set up new ones and let the update run. Still comes up with "Operation timed out" but now the IP is 0.0.0.0. Force Update isn't working either.

Please help. the server has been running perfectly updating the network twice since inception with no issues. Now all of a sudden DU4.0 won't update.

Thanks to all inadvance!

Hi,

4.6.5 had an issue in the way it analyses the response form the server.
So, 4.6.5 may incorrectly reports update as successful :(

4.6.6 should now report the correct response from the server.
It's hard to tell whether or not it will fix the issue with Sitelutions (at least, it should report the correct problem).

I'm sad you didn't choose DU, a 60days trial period seemed OK.
It's apparently not...

Let me know if you find another client, better than DU ;)

Regards
William

If you could extend my trial period for 1-2 days to see if this version is any better, the 3rd day I would pay for it. What do you think?

I PMed you...
