Problems with EasyDNS

Postby Cheeseper » Tue Feb 16, 2016 5:36 am

I have been using DirectUpdate for many years with EasyDNS. A while ago (probably many months) this has stopepd working and I'm at a bit of a loss as to why. I suspect that EasyDNS may have changed their URL or protocol, as I have tried other dynamic dns updaters and these fail too. If I try to perfrom the update using my username and password, it always returns "TOO SOON". If I try with my username and update token it gives me an access denied.

I have been able to get the update to work by setting it up as a generic DDNS service under INADYN, but I have not been able to figure out how to set it up to work as a custom DNS dervice under DirectUpdate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks......

Hello,

Re the easydns issue, have you installed latest 4.7.6 version?
Can you send me your log file and content of the Dump folder (after the "TOO SOON") reply?

To setup a "generic" dns service, select "Custom/vanilia dns service" in the list.
Then use the "Server:" field to enter the server name
And the "Field2:" to enter the URL path

For example, if you enter "my.server.com" in server and "update/dyn.php?domain=*domain*&ip=*IP*" in Field2.
The update will be sent to:
http://my.server.com/update/dyn.php?dom ... ip=1.2.3.4
(login/pass will be sent as basic http authentication mechanism)

Hope that helps
