0x80070005:Access is denied

After installing DU 4.0.4 I get:
[ERR]- 19/Apr/2005 12:29:34 - IP detection "Standard" failed using URL "http://www.dnsart.com/myip.php". - Error 0x80070005:Access is denied.

This also applies to several other detection URLs that used to work, but a few are still working. I never had this problem with DU 3.6.2

Using WinXP Pro SP2 with all updates from WindowsUpdate installed.
Also using NIS firewall, but disabling NIS+NAV doesn't make any difference.

Hi,

Many URLs offered by different dynamic dns providers are used by DirectUpdate. These URLs require a high bandwidth for them (and so high cost).
They asked me to provide the URL, only if the user is one of their customer.
For example, you can use the URL provided by dnsart, only if you are using dnsart as a dns service...
I think this is fair and I should have implemented this feature sooner, right from the ebginning. Sorry about that.

Note that you should always try to use local detection when possible.
- Directly on the local NIC (if available).
- Either directly from your router html "status" page.
- Either using the SNMP plug-in.

I'm getting access denied in checking IPs with your sites as well:
checkip.fraggers.net
checkip2.fraggers.net

Also, latest version still has problems with password protected router status pages, so I'm forced to use external websites.

I am also getting a lot of the detection methods failing, including these:

checkip.fraggers.net
checkip2.fraggers.net

The first one that works for my is www.whatismyip.com

Any ideas why? Also, are there tips anywhere on setting it up to work with your router's status page? I tried this, but it reports:

Error 0x8183007a:A valid IP address was not found.

Even though when I go to the same URL as I entered into DU I can see the IP address. There's a lot of info on that status page though, so I can see how it could be hard to figure out. Are there any ways I can help DU figure it out?

So in other words, and correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the URL's do not provide updating unless I'm a member of them. Since "watchmyip" is the only one that is working, I'm left wondering how long before they follow suit and Direct Update is Outdated. I'm using the trial version at the moment and I'm planning to register it very soon, but I can't help to wonder if updaing will soon be unlikely.

As is wrote in manual:

4. Remote web sites.
This step is the default step used. It's a list of URL, returning your IP address in a web page. For server bandwidth reasons, each server can't be queried more than every 10min. If the server is local (like a local router), then this limitation does not apply.
Usually, soho cable/adsl router can display the WAN IP address in a "status" page. You can use the first entry of the list to specify the exact URL (beware of frames!) to your router "status" page. Please refer to your router help/support to find this URL.
Note that you can modify this list the way you want. The selected entry in the list can be modified using the fields next to the list.
Using the ">>" button, a menu appears with more options

But remember that there are others detection system, as wrote in manual:

The IP detection process is divided in 4 different steps. Each step can be enabled/disabled, and the detection stops at the first step returning a valid IP address.
This 4 steps are:

1. Manually entered IP.
2. Local network interface(s).
3. IP detection plug-ins.
4. Remote web sites.

Just a suggestion - but why not add support for some really common/popular router status pages like the Dlink. I've tried and cannot get it to work (DI-604). The actual local page is:
http://192.168.0.1/st_devic.html
When I browse there in IE I am prompted for user & password.
Page looks like this:
